“A CUBE only ever has 3 visible faces and in our case, they’re the ones above. You’ll always know who you’re speaking to.”

Our Values + Goals

We started with a simple mission…

“To create durable, inclusive and thoughtfully designed street furniture, accessibly priced for our key customers.”

We value…

Honesty

Through candid, transparent communication we foster relationships built on trust and honesty. We know our limits and we’re happy to tell our customers what they are!

Inclusivity

We create products that open up urban spaces to the widest possible range of people, and do whatever is required to maximise engagement with our customers and suppliers.

Accountability

We take full responsibility for both our service and product offering, and strive to support our customers and end users before and after sale in equal measure.

Compliance

We adhere to established ergonomic principles and standards in our design, and industry regulations in our operation.

Solidarity

Our team also includes our customers, partners and supply chain. No one is more important.

Hold us to account. If we fail on any of the above while working with you, let us know and it will become our mission to improve.

Why…

Our product is often the final consideration in construction and development, but still contributes heavily to the quality and both financial and social value of the space, and the overall environmental impact of the project. Our unencumbered position enables us to explore new processes, materials and approaches to compliment the evolving construction, architectural and environmental landscape.

We know the street furniture industry, so we know where improvements in product and service are needed, and we are better equipped to provide this as a small, dedicated team with long-standing trusted partners.

    Product Design + Engineering

We design and engineer all our own products in-house. We’ve also got the experience of 100s of successful bespoke projects behind us, allowing us to offer the best in both cases.

    Supply Chain + Manufacturing

Our wonderfully experienced and helpful manufacturing partners give us the flexibility to design what we want, how we want it. We have a diverse supply chain that help us deliver on tight deadlines, and utilise a broad range of materials and fabrication methods.

    Project Management + Planning

We know street furniture is often the least of your worries, but it’s our biggest! Let us manage the design, consultation, procurement and installation for you.

    Assembly, Delivery + Installation

Of course we can deliver when and where you want, but we can also call upon our trusted network of experienced installers to remove that headache for you. Designing our own products means we have an intimate knowledge of how they go together and can provide remote or on-site guidance during the build.

    Product Handover + Beyond

We’ve spent a lot of time and energy getting to this point and we love our products so it would be remiss of us to pretend they don’t exist when they land on your site. If you have difficulty installing, maintaining or repairing our kit, please get in touch and we’ll do everything we can to keep your CUBE products CUBE-worthy.

Environmental Sustainability

1. Right, let’s start with some honesty:

We are a small team in a young business, and although we want CUBE to grow into an innovative, responsible supplier, we are also focusing on staying viable and so investment in genuine “green” pursuits is currently low.

We are acutely aware that we often supply tropical hardwoods from Africa, metals from Asia and plastics from deep underground but we are, in part, responding to industry-pull for familiar, sometimes outdated norms.

By researching alternative materials and supply chains that can lessen the impact of our products, we hope to knowledgably educate specifiers and clients alike to create a new way of thinking.

3. Anything else?

Yes! We’re proud to have a 6.5kW photovoltaic array supplying clean electricity and heating to our design office.

You will also notice that the majority of our standard product datasheets/drawings come with a kg CO2e figure*. This is an estimation of the impact of materials procurement, processing and shipping of our products, allowing you to compare and assess their relative impact on your project.

*The emissions factors used in the calculations have been sourced from a variety of validated, third-party open data sources, and include a blend of CO2 and (GWP normalised) CO2e values, with final carbon footprint calculated in kg CO2e. The purpose of the calculations generated is to give an acceptably accurate indication of the cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of our products, suitable for self-declaration. Figures have not been validated by a third party but are an excellent way of making a direct comparison between similar products from different collections.

2. Our strategy begins with open & frank conversations:

We want to speak to architects, local authority leadership and specifiers to raise awareness of better options.

If we can show that it’s possible to provide appropriate, achievable and scalable alternatives from the top to the bottom of the chain, we believe more responsible choices will be made and a more environmentally-prepared supply chain demanded. One that we’ll be ready to react to, of course.

In the meantime we’re procuring and testing samples of interesting materials like processed bamboo, reclaimed timbers and composites, all largely unused in the street furniture industry.

Is this good enough? No, we don’t think so, but as CUBE grows we endeavour to invest increased time and money into lessening the impact of our products. When this isn’t possible we pledge to either share a portion of our profits with environmental causes or devote our time to volunteering with community projects.
